Jamestown Community League: Akoto Lante Beat Bodey

In a thrilling final in the Jamestown Community League, Akoto Lante emerge winners of the maiden edition beating Bodey in a penalty shootout.

The Competition which came off at Jamestown Mantse Agbonaa park was organised by the Assembly of Ngleshie Electoral Area, Hon. Festus Ayi Hayford to unite and unearth talent in the community.

After sixteen weeks of intense football in the Jamestown Community League, Akoto Lante thump Bodey five – four in a penalty shootout to clinch the maiden of the league.

The game ended goalless after both teams failed to find the back of the net in regulation time.

The final lived to it’s billing as both teams created scoring opportunities but failed to make it count.

Bodey Received a red card in the dying minutes of the game, however they were strong enough to send the game to Penalties.

Captain of Bodey, Hatcha missed his spot kick whiles Akoto Lante scored all five of their kicks to emerge winners of the league.

The league had twelve teams with six teams placed in group A whiles six was also placed in group B.

The top two finishers from each group advanced to the playoffs.

Bodey knocked out kwekuma tsoshishii.
At the same time Akoto Lante also beat Akanmajen in the playoffs setting a thrilling final between the two group winners.

The occasion was graced by Fred Pappoe, Former Vice President Of the Ghana football Association, Parliamentary Candidate Of both NPP and NDC, Hon. Manaf Sowah , Hon. Ashie Kotey and other Dignitaries.

Awards and medals were presented to players who excelled in the league

Man of the Match in the final was given to Paa Kofi from Bodey. The Golden Boot was given to Nii Addy for scoring nine goals in the league.
In addition to his award two balls was given to him for his stellar performance.

The Best goalkeeper was awarded to Mahama Of Bodey whiles the Best player was also awarded to Mahrez from Bodey.

Kwekuma tsoshishi and Roundabout were given medals for placing Third and fourth respectively.

Disruptive fans, delays, injuries. In the end, Akotolante walked away with the giant trophy and an undisclosed amount of money.

Organiser Of the Jamestown Community League and Assembly Man for the Ngleshie Electoral Area, Hon. Festus Ayi Hayford in his submission said the purpose of the League is to unite, come together, meet , fraternize and collaborate to get opportunities out of it.

He added that the league will also create opportunities for talent who do not have the platform to showcase it and to take it to the level.

He also took the opportunity to thank the Pappoe family, Attoh Okine Family, Hon. Nii Lantey Vanderpuije, Hon. Manaf and Hon. Ashie Kotey, Past Assembly members for their support .

Parliamentary Candidate for NDC in the a Odododiodioo constituency Hon. Ashie Kotey added that the Jamestown community League means a lot to him , citing that the constituency has a lot of talents in the community except that they have no platform for them to exhibit it.

He continued that the league have exposed the kind of talent the constituency have.

However he has assured the Assembly man of the Ngleshie Electoral Area Of his resources in the next edition not only in Ngleshie but the entire constituency.
