Mahama won’t debate on any IEA platform – Dep. Spokesperson

Deputy Spokesperson for the John Mahama campaign, Beatrice Annang has indicated that John Dramani Mahama will not participate in any debate organized by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA)

IEA announced at a press conference on Monday August 7, 2024 that it had slated it presidential debates for October, Novemeber.

The Institute announced that it will hold debates and encounters to allow flagbearers the opportunity to interact with the public.

But speaking on Accra-based TV3, Beatrice Annang indicated that John Dramani Mahama will not be involved in any debate organized by the IEA.

”What I want to say and on authority is that the NDC and John Mahama will not participate in any debate organized by IEA whether in September or November in Accra or Kumasi. I am saying this in my official capacity as the Deputy Spokesperson of the John Mahama campaign.

she explained that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has in the past described John Dramani Mahama as incompetent and therefore won’t be necessary to share the same stage with him.

”I think that the official reason is that the NDC has laid its policies. President Mahama sometime last year started engaging Ghanaians on the building Ghana tour in all 16 regions to listen to the problems of the people of Ghana.

Again, we have officially started out campaign and we are speaking to the people of Ghana and we have announced more than 60 policies in all areas,” she said.
