Yilo Krobo NDC accuses EC, NPP of illegally transferring 866 persons

The National Democratic Congress(NDC) in the Yilo Krobo constituency has accused the Electoral Commission(EC) of conspiring with the area’s NPP parliamentary candidate to transfer 866 voters onto the register illegally.

According to the party, after analyzing the provisional register during the just-ended exhibition, the total number of voters transferred exceeds the total number recorded at the end of the transfer exercise.

The NDC alleged that, the bloated number is an attempt by the EC and the NPP to rig the December election in favour of the ruling party.

Addressing a press conference to protest the alleged illegality, the Constituency Chairman, Eric Keteku said the provisional register has a total 2,290 voters transferred as against 1,424 recorded by the NDC agent and the District EC Director in Somanya.

Mr Keteku indicated that, the party the EC has been notified of the development but they are yet to see any action.
