The focus for Day 5 is on the Anglican Diocese of Accra. His Lordship Rt. Rev’d Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto, Diocesan Bishop and Rev’d Canon Ebenezer Kingspride Jones-Okai, Diocesan/Synod Secretary welcomed Rev’d Dr. James Clark and Miss May Yu from Trinity Church, A Parish in New York to the Bishopscourt on the Prof John Evans Atta Mills High Street.



In Bishop Torto’s opening remarks, he appreciated the works and support of Trinity Church, New York within the Internal Province of Ghana and indicated ” we need to deepen the missionary relationship between the Trinity Church in New York and the Anglican Church in Accra. The Bishop spoke about the impact the Church is making in education across the country especially in Accra which has about 54 Primary and Junior High Schools with close to 40,000 pupils (Records from the Anglican Education Unit). The Church has two Senior High School under the Diocese of Accra. The delegation were introduced to other projects the Diocese has such as the ADOA Rubber plantation, Car Park project, ADOATV, Hostel facility among others.

ADOATV TOUR
They were taken on a brief tour to the studios of ADOATV, a television channel wholly owned by the Anglican Diocese of Accra. They engaged with Mr. Cyril Jones-Okai, the Deputy Director who introduced the programmes and production lines of the channel and the staff to the delegation.

Bishop Torto led the delegation to the Anglican Retreat Centre to see the Trinity Church, New York sponsored event centre project for the Anglican Diocese of Accra. The facility when completed will have a 1000 seater capacity multi-purpose conference facility, a huge restaurant a Gym/office space and mini workshop space plus a massive carpark area.



The team also visited the Hostel and had interaction with the facility Manager, Miss Shema.



The Lord Bishop of Accra as host in the Diocese extended warm hospitality to guests from Trinity Church in New York with lunch and offered them gifts on behalf of the Anglican Diocese of Accra. He also sent gifts to the Rector of Trinity Church, New York and some other staff at Trinity.

Rev’d Prof. Paul Appiah-Sekyere – Diocesan Bishop of Dunkwa-on-Offin, the Rt. Rev’d Dr. Reginald Victor Attah-Baffoe – Diocesan Bishop of Cape Coast, the Rt. Rev’d Kwame Kyem-Ampomah – Diocesan Bishop of Wiawso, the Rt. Rev’d Dr. George Kotei Neequaye – Diocesan Bishop of Tema and the Rt. Rev’d Dr. Daniel Sylvanus Mensah Torto – Diocesan Bishop of Accra including their wives, their Diocesan Officials, committee members and teams for their purest of hospitality exhibited towards them. Ghana is truly a land of hospitality and according to Dr. Clark and Miss May Yu it feels like “Christmas came early in September”. They also extended a special appreciation to Mr. Reginald Frimpong Ansah-Adjaye and Mr. Reginald Pepsival Robertson for their coordination and planning for this very unique and important visit. The team says a big Thank you to the assigned Driver Christopher, he’s such a gem.
We will pray for traveling mercies for Rev’d Dr. James Clark and Miss May Yu as they return to New York, we look forward to a strengthened relationship between Trinity Church, New York and the Internal Province of Ghana and the Anglican Communion at large.
