The Experience in Cape Coast was Heavy – Miss May Yu

Miss May Yu, the mission estates planning expert from the Trinity Church, a parish in New York who is part of the delegation visiting Ghana recounting her experience yesterday at both the Elimina Slaves Dungeon and Cape Coast Castle said “it was an heavy experience to deal with” and was also excited about the tour guides especially one Miss Abena at the Elimina Castle who spoke passionately about reconciliation and forgiveness. Rev’d Dr. James Clark on his part said the experience was very “reflective” and hearing the horrifying stories that slaves went through in both Castles.

Day 4 activity for the delegation was to visit the Epiphany Hostel in Winneba (Windy Bay) one of the sponsored Trinity Church, New York projects in Ghana. Rev’d Canon James Andoh-Appiah, the Manager of the Facility, on behalf of Rt. Rev’d Dr. Reginald Victor Attah-Baffoe who is on Sabbatical in Atlanta took the delegation around facility. He was with Henry Amoako Agyensam, a member of the Committee and Diocesan accountant as well as Mr. William Brown, also a member of the committee in charge of the Hostel and finance board member of the Diocese of Cape Coast.

Bishop Reginald Victor Attah-Baffoe though on Sabbatical managed to speak to the delegation via phone and also sent his good-bye gifts to Rev’d Dr. Clark and Miss Yu which were presented by Rev’d Canon Andoh-Appiah.

C.P.W.A Project

The delegation visited the Archbishop Yinkah Sarfo Apartments in Kaneshie which is made up of 16 units 2 bedrooms. They met with Mr. Raymond Cofie, the facility manager. The project was funded by The Trinity Church, New York and was commissioned in 2021 to all 17 Dioceses within the Church of the Province of West Africa by then. They used this opportunity to see the Provincial Spirit Insurance Brokerage Head office also located in Kaneshie.

“Tema We Dey”

The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Tema, Rt. Rev’d Dr. George Kotei Neequaye, his wife Mother Superior Esther Neequaye(Mrs), Lay Canon Michael Cobblah and the Diocesan Chancellor met the Trinity Church delegation for a brief meeting at the Bliss Event Center at Airport. Coincidentally the Bishop of Cameroon, the Rt. Rev’d Dibo Thomas-Babyngton Elango met with the Team just as he arrived in Ghana for a special Internal Province of West Africa Bishops meeting with the Primate in Accra courtesy the Provincial Secretary Venerable Anthony M. Eiwuley.

The Bishop of Tema lead the team to the St. Stephen Anglican Church in Tema to visit the site to build the Tema Diocese Event Centre and prospect other areas.

Since the visit to Tema Diocese was symbolic, Bishop George Kotei Neequaye as Chief host, gave his guests some gifts as a gesture of hospitality. The gifts were presented on behalf of the Anglican Diocese of Tema by Lay Canon Michael Cobblah.

Tema Diocese offered a mini banquet for dinner as a chosen location within the Diocese.
