The newly appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has pledged his full
commitment to aligning with the government’s agenda for resetting and improving security in Ghana.
Speaking at his official swearing in ceremony, IGP Yohuno assured the nation of his unwavering dedication to reforming the Ghana Police Service, emphasizing professionalism,
accountability, and strategic law enforcement.

“I will lead in alignment with your resetting agenda to ensure that the Ghana Police Service is more
efficient, proactive, and people-centered,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to tackling crime, enhancing community engagement, and improving the welfare of police officers.
President John Dramani Mahama appointed Christian Tetteh Yohuno as the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP), replacing Dr. Akufo Dampare who served as the Inspector general for approximately fouryears when appointed by former President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo.

Until his appointment, COP Yohuno served as the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, playing a key role in shaping the operational and strategic framework of the Ghana Police Service. His distinguished career, which started in 1985 as a police recruit, reflects decades of dedication, leadership, and strategic expertise.

Yohuno has held six Director-General roles, overseeing key areas like Administration, Intelligence, and Special Operations.

As a Police Management Board member, he shaped national policies and strategies. His tenure as Greater Accra Regional and Deputy Regional Commander saw him excel in crime prevention and resource management.
