Ghana’s Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has pledged his unwavering support for the growth and promotion of women’s football in the country. According to the minister he is committed to ensuring female footballers receive the recognition and resources they deserve.
“I will lead the charge to support women’s football and ensure it gets the investment and attention it
needs to thrive,” he stated.
Women’s football in Ghana has made significant progress over the years, overcoming numerous challenges, especially in comparison to men’s football. However, the minister has assured that plans are being implemented to enhance the development of the women’s game in the
country.
As part of efforts to develop the women’s game, the ministry is set to introduce new funding initiatives in the upcoming budget to improve infrastructure, and enhance grassroots programs. Plans are also underway to strengthen the Women’s Premier League, increase sponsorship opportunities, and provide better training facilities for female players.
