ADOA 1st Session of 25TH SYNOD: Youth In Focus: Anglican Diocese Of Accra To Expand Brigade Presence and Mentorship

By Naa Anyema Collison

The youth were front and center in Bishop Torto’s 2025 Synod Charge, with new plans aimed at deepening discipleship and active participation among young people.

“Plans are underway to upgrade the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade and expand their presence to at least 10% of parishes by 2026,” the Bishop announced.

The Diocese also reaffirmed its support for youth empowerment through the global leadership of Pepsival Robertson, re-elected as Global Co-Convener of the Anglican Communion Youth Network (ACYN).

To complement these efforts, the Bishop proposed counseling desks in all parishes to support youth decision-making and faith formation.

“Our young people are not just the future, they are the now. We must equip them to lead the church and the nation,” he added.
