Anglican Church of Ghana Honoured As The ‘Educated Oriented Church’ At The 2026 Christian Honours Award Night

An Anglican delegation received an award on behalf of the Most Rev’d Dr. Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith, Archbishop of the Anglican Church in Ghana at the maiden edition of Christian Honors Award Night, held on Saturday, 25th April 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra.

The Anglican Church was honoured with the distinguished title of “Education-Oriented Church” in recognition of its enduring commitment to educational development, moral formation, and national transformation through faith-based initiatives.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Archbishop, the delegation expressed appreciation to the organisers for the recognition, noting that the Anglican Church has, over the years, remained steadfast in its mission to promote quality education as a cornerstone of holistic human development.
This recognition reaffirms the Church’s legacy in establishing schools, shaping values, and contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s educational landscape, while also inspiring renewed dedication to this vital ministry.

The Anglican Delegation to were the Venerable Anthony Morkehchie Eiwuley (Provincial Secretary for the Church of the Province of West Africa), Rev’d Canon Dr. Patrick Okaijah-Bortier (Prolocutor of the House of Church, Internal Province of Ghana), Mr. Raymond Coffie (Finance Officer, Anglican Church of Ghana Secretariat) and Mr. Reginald Pepsival Robertson (Provincial Youth and Children’s Coordinator, Internal Province of Ghana).
