Adamus Resources Limited has welcomed the government’s decision to establish a framework to resolve challenges affecting the company and restore the Adamus mine to sustainable operations.
The company described the outcome of a recent meeting at the Presidency as a “significant and constructive step forward”, saying the decision provides a pathway to safeguard the future of the mine and the livelihoods connected to it.
According to Adamus, the framework is expected to benefit employees, contractors, suppliers, host communities and other stakeholders who depend on the mine’s operations.
Under the arrangement, Adamus Resources, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Minerals Commission will work together to develop a 12-month roadmap aimed at turning around the mine.
A six-member management team, made up of three representatives from Adamus and three government representatives, will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of the turnaround programme.
The company said the joint approach would enable all parties to concentrate on reviving the mine while preserving its value to Ghana and the various stakeholders who depend on it.
“Adamus remains committed to the future of the mine,” the company said.
It acknowledged the uncertainty created by developments in recent months and assured employees, contractors, suppliers, host communities, business partners, investors and the wider Ghanaian public of its commitment to addressing the challenges.
