Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Mahama Ayariga, has assured President John Dramani Mahama that he and the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Dr Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, will work diligently to fulfil the government’s commitments to Ghanaians.
Mr Ayariga made the pledge on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Jubilee House during the swearing-in ceremony of the two ministers.
Their induction into office followed Parliament’s unanimous approval of their nominations after they appeared before the Appointments Committee for vetting on Thursday, August 27.
Speaking after the administration of the constitutional oaths, Mr Ayariga said he and Dr Agyeman-Rawlings had taken note of President Mahama’s expectations and were fully aware of the responsibilities attached to their respective positions.
He pledged that the two ministers would be guided by the President’s directives and work towards delivering on the promises made to Ghanaians during the 2024 election campaign.
Mr Ayariga said the government’s vision to “reset” the country would remain central to their work as ministers.
He further indicated that President Mahama’s approach to governance and his engagement with ordinary Ghanaians would serve as a model for how they conduct themselves in office.
Mr Ayariga also assured the President that they would continue to seek guidance from him and the Vice President in the execution of their ministerial responsibilities.
“We will work to realise the commitments that you made to Ghanaians in your promise to reset the country when you campaigned in 2024,” he said.
He added that the two ministers were committed to applying the President’s governance style in their respective ministries as they worked to meet the expectations of the Ghanaian people.
