ODODODIOO IN SLUM SLUMP: NDC, NPP Trade Blame Over Ga Mashie Filth, Market Neglect, and Broken Infrastructure

Adoa TV’s focus on the mounting development crisis in Ga Mashie quickly devolved into a fiery clash as political correspondents from the NDC and NPP traded blame over who bears responsibility for the community’s decay.Residents across the Odododioo constituency have raised alarm over escalating environmental and infrastructural failures, pointing to choked gutters, overflowing filth, acute water shortages, the abandoned Salaga Market, and crumbling infrastructure at Sempe School.

Taking his turn on the broadcast, NDC correspondent Jonathan Nii Amah Ashitey deflected blame toward community members, arguing that bad civic habits directly cause the drainage blockages. He cautioned residents against expecting the Member of Parliament to clean up after them, adding that the opposition must refrain from piling pressure on the government while the MP works to assemble a plan. Ashitey insisted that while the previous NPP administration failed to fix these systemic issues over its eight-year tenure, the current government is actively tackling them.

Hitting back, NPP correspondent Mr. Ibrahim Ayala Tackie. Mr. Ayalah rejected the accusations and defended his party’s track record, insisting that the NPP’s budget frameworks included specific infrastructure allocations designed to address sanitation, water, and school facilities across the constituency.However, the political defense failed to resonate with local viewers.

Following the broadcast, several Odododioo residents voiced sharp skepticism, accusing Mr. Ayalah of “throwing dust in their eyes” with budget talk while basic living conditions remain unchanged.With both political sides locked in debate, the people of Ga Mashie are left waiting for real interventions to clear the filth and fix their essential services.
