Accra High Court Denies Bail to Nursing Officer Linked to ‘Ghana Jollof’ Account

The High Court in Accra has denied bail to Salomey Awity Baffoe, a senior nursing officer based in Techiman, who has been charged with abetment of crime in connection with activities attributed to the “Ghana Jollof” social media account.

The court rejected her bail application, citing the ongoing police investigations and concerns that granting her bail could potentially lead to the deletion or destruction of evidence relevant to the case.

Ms Baffoe’s lawyer, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah, disclosed the court’s decision following a virtual hearing.

The case stems from police investigations into activities surrounding the “Ghana Jollof” account. Investigators are also examining financial transactions involving individuals described as high-profile persons in connection with the probe.

Meanwhile, the police have launched a search for Barbara Asantewaa Koduah, who investigators believe is behind the social media account.

Following the court’s decision, Ms Baffoe will remain in custody while the police continue their investigations into the matter.
