The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, in collaboration with its private-sector partner, has completed training for selected police personnel and public-sector stakeholders ahead of the nationwide rollout of the Traffitech-GH road traffic enforcement system.
The final training session was held on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Stevens Hotel Conference Room in Ho in the Volta Region.
It formed part of preparations for the operationalisation of Traffitech-GH, which is scheduled to begin nationwide on October 1, 2026.
The session was the fifth and final training programme conducted across the country for enforcement teams ahead of the rollout.
A total of 45 participants took part, including MTTD personnel from Ho and representatives of the Judicial Service, National Road Safety Authority (NRSA), National Insurance Commission (NIC) and Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
Participants were trained on the operation of the Traffitech-GH system and briefed on the Road Traffic Regulations, 2026 (L.I. 2519), as well as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act, 2025 (Act 1153).
The training covered automated road traffic offences and fines under Regulation 242, the implementation of the Traffitech-GH system, and procedures for contesting automated traffic offences.
The selected Volta Regional back-office team also received practical training in the use of fixed in-vehicle cameras and the handheld or tripod-mounted Lasercam4 speed camera.
Meanwhile, the Volta Regional back office at the Regional MTTD Office in Ho has been equipped with updated Traffitech-GH software to support the implementation of the system.
Traffitech-GH is expected to commence nationwide operations on October 1, 2026, under Regulation 242.
