The Police said the measures are intended to ensure public safety, maintain smooth traffic flow and support security operations during the event.

Speaking to journalists in Kumasi, Head of the Police Public Affairs Unit, Superintendent Godwin Ahianyo, outlined the roads that will be closed and the alternative routes motorists are expected to use.

Parking arrangements and accreditation

The Police Command said parking arrangements agreed upon with the NPP Elections Committee will be strictly enforced throughout the conference.

The VVIP Car Park has been designated for former Presidents and the NPP Presidential Candidate only.

Members of Parliament, former MPs, MMDCEs and CEOs will use the Scoreboard Parking Area, while regional delegates arriving by bus and National Party Executives will park at Heroes Park.

Official police vehicles will be stationed at the Hockey Pitch.

The Police further stressed that all delegates and vehicles must be properly accredited. Only accredited persons and vehicles will be allowed into designated areas.

Motorists have also been instructed to display their accreditation prominently and follow directions from police officers deployed around the stadium.

Towing and enforcement

The Command has cautioned motorists against parking at unauthorised locations or attempting to bypass established roadblocks.

Personnel from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) will be deployed at strategic locations to manage traffic and enforce the temporary arrangements.

Towing trucks will also be positioned in the area to remove vehicles that are wrongly parked or abandoned. Such vehicles will be towed to the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) yard at the owners’ expense.

The Police have urged motorists, delegates, party supporters and members of the public to plan their journeys ahead of time, make use of alternative routes and avoid parking in areas surrounding the stadium.

The Command warned that unauthorised access, improper parking and obstruction of designated routes will not be permitted.

It also apologised to the public for any inconvenience the temporary traffic measures may cause and appealed for the cooperation of motorists and all road users.
