Ghana’s Black Queens made a strong start to their 2028 CAF Women’s Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament campaign, defeating Mauritius 3-0 in the first leg of the second round at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex.
The victory marked Ghana’s opening game of the qualifying campaign, with Margaret Agyapomaa making her competitive debut for the Black Queens.
Head coach Kim Lars Björkegren named a strong starting line-up, with experienced players including Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Benedicta Simon, Comfort Yeboah, Evelyn Badu and Alice Kusi all handed starts.
Ghana took control of the game in the 15th minute when Abigail Kofi Kim opened the scoring.
Stella Nyamekye created the opportunity with a low cross from the right, which Kofi Kim converted to give the Black Queens a 1-0 lead.
The Black Queens maintained their attacking pressure and eventually added two more goals to secure a comfortable 3-0 victory and put themselves in a strong position ahead of the second leg.
