2027 Budget: Ato Forson to Outline Plans to Turn Economic Recovery into Jobs and Higher Incomes

Finance Minister Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has pledged to outline the government’s plans to translate Ghana’s economic recovery into job opportunities, improved incomes and business growth when he presents the 2027 Budget Statement on Thursday, November 12.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Dr Forson said the next phase of the country’s economic recovery must deliver tangible benefits to citizens and improve their livelihoods.

He noted that the sacrifices made by Ghanaians to restore the economy must now translate into decent employment opportunities for young people, better earnings for farmers and an enabling environment for local businesses to expand and create jobs.

“Ghanaians made sacrifices to get our economy back on its feet. Now, that recovery must mean decent jobs for our young people, better incomes for our farmers and room for Ghanaian businesses to grow and hire,” he stated.

The Finance Minister added that the upcoming budget would explain how the government’s proposed economic direction, which he described as the “New Economy”, would convert the gains made in the recovery process into broader prosperity.

“Next week, I will show how the New Economy will turn the gains we have made together into jobs and prosperity for all,” he said.

Dr Forson’s comments signal an emphasis on employment generation, improved agricultural incomes and private-sector expansion in the 2027 Budget, which is expected to set out the government’s economic priorities and policy direction for the coming year.
